Wooden Robot, The Cherub No35
Meet wooden robot The Cherub No35. This hand made wooden robot is made from salvaged spalted and figured maple. The maple has been stabilized which makes the wood impermeable to moisture and very heavy and solid. The heart on its chest is hand textured and made from figured Bolivian purple heart. The inlays are mother of pearl and mosaic pins of steel, brass and copper. The wings are made from Myrtle wood which was resurrected from the firewood pile, one side is live edge and the other is hand textured. This pair of wings attaches with a simple rare earth magnet. the head is made from black box burl. The eyes are made with Cholla cactus, green dichrotic laminate and entropy bio casting resin.
This Piece is approximately ten inches tall and eight inches wide. There will be a wooden base included with this piece that will make it taller and perhaps wider— to be determined. This wooden robot will last for generations if cared for properly. The joints can be articulated with the allen keys that are included with purchase. The head is mounted on a magnetic ball joint that can be articulated freely to change to mood and personality of the robot.
