Wooden Robot Sequoia Sempervirens No 33

$900.00

Meet Wooden Robot Seqioa Sempervirens No 33. I found this stunning piece of Redwood burl on a local beach by my house. I milled the wood, then stabilized the wood to essentially fossilize the pieces to make them more durable, in turn impermeable to moisture changes within the environment. it is loaded with beautiful burl eyes and has stunning rustic figure. I chose abalone as the inlay material as this piece of wood was harvested on the beach. I absolutely love becoming party of the tree’s journey, From the forrest to the river to the beach to my woodshop and ultimately into your lives. Feels amazing. The head of this robot is made from Australian Jarrah burl, The eyes are made from York Gum burl with abalone. The ear pieces are made from Bolivian Purple Heart. This Wooden Robot is simple yet very complex when you consider the many years it stood with in the forest— an amazing thought to ponder.
